ANHYDRITEC UK launches new blue colour versions of its ECO FD E2C and XTR FD E2C (fast-drying, early-to-cover) screed binders

Anhydritec's pioneering approach to coloured screed gives floor layers instant, on-site clarity over which Gyvlon product is underfoot.

ANHYDRITEC UK is pleased to announce the launch of an updated version of two of its most trusted fast-drying, early-to-cover screeds: ECO® FD E2C and XTR FD E2C®. The new product variants retain the performance that has made ECO and XTR a first choice for fast-track construction programmes across the UK, but now arrive on site in two clearly differentiated blue colours - ECO FD E2C in light blue (PANTONE 306 C) and XTR FD E2C in a darker blue (PANTONE 283 C). This innovative approach to screed binder manufacturing makes it easier than ever for floor layers and follow-on trades to identify exactly what they are working with, preventing costly site preparation mistakes that can lead to remedial works, floor failures, and downtime.

Same trusted performance, now easier to identify on site

ECO FD E2C incorporates Anhydritec's Faster Drying (FD) and Early to Cover (E2C) technologies, combining the long-established benefits of sustainable anhydrite screeds with significantly reduced programme times. Now produced in light blue, ECO FD E2C continues to deliver high-output installation, with productivity rates of up to 200 m² per hour achievable under appropriate site conditions, alongside excellent dimensional stability that allows floor finishes to be applied with minimal risk of cracking, curling, or debonding. The darker blue XTR FD E2C carries forward XTR's high mechanical performance (C35-F7), making it the preferred choice for commercial and high-traffic environments such as retail units, hospitals, car showrooms, and steel-deck structures, where floors are subjected to above-average loadings. Now combining the same accelerated drying and early-to-cover capability with a distinct blue colouration, XTR FD E2C will be easily identifiable.

Pioneering colour as a practical safeguard, not a cosmetic choice

Anhydritec has long taken the view that the value of a screed isn't only in how it performs once it's down, but also in how clearly it communicates what it is, to everyone who has to work with it afterwards.

That thinking is what sits behind Anhydritec's pioneering use of coloured screeds across its Gyvlon range. By giving different products their own identifiable shade, Anhydritec allows site teams, floor layers, and contract administrators to recognise at a glance which screed has been laid, without relying on paperwork that may have gone missing, memories that may be unreliable, or assumptions that may simply be wrong.

The importance of screed colour

Thanks to the new, identifiable shade, site teams, floor layers and contract administrators can easily recognise at a glance which screed has been laid, helping them make the right decisions on priming, abrasion and adhesive selection, and reducing the risk of costly mistakes. For floor layers and subsequent trades, the benefit is straightforward: colour recognition removes guesswork from the handover. It supports the right decisions on priming, abrasion, and adhesive selection, and it reduces the risk of costly mistakes that only become apparent once a floor covering has failed.

The new blue ECO FD E2C and XTR FDE2C variants are being rolled out now through Anhydritec UK's established network of partner concrete plants and approved screed installers across the UK. Please enquire with your local distributor about the new products.
